Kristen Gajewski, is the August CASA Volunteer of the Month. She grew up in OKC and attended OU where she graduated with a degree in Broadcasting Journalism. She is a mom to 2 awesome kids, Preston who is 12 and Logan who is 7.

After graduation Kristen worked for Channel 5 in Oklahoma City, then moved to Michigan and then back to Oklahoma City to work for the Red Hawks. She became a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters, eventually becoming an employee. While in OKC she also became a volunteer with CASA. She has a HUGE heart for children and realized that she could advocate for those who needed a voice.

After moving to Stillwater, she knew that she wanted to get involved with CASA in Payne County.  She has served the same case with two children for two years. Being on the case for two years has opened her eyes to how the system works and why it takes time to go through the process. She has also seen the many different resources available and everyone who works behind the scenes to make a difference. Kristen has also witnessed how much they all care about the children.

Kristen said that those who have a desire to give back should know there is a place where you can change a child’s life. You can give them a voice and it doesn’t take a lot of time. Even working adults or those who have children can work it into their schedule. YOU are needed!
