CASA Volunteer of the Month for October 2017

Mark Waits, October 2017 CASA Volunteer of the month.

Mark Waits is CASA’s volunteer of the month for October. Mark has been a wonderful asset to CASA for Kids since he was sworn in as a volunteer in March of 2017. Mark loves kids and helping those in need.

He knew he wanted to be involved in his community, especially when he was made more aware of the abuse and neglect facing children right in the same county where he and his family lives. When approached with the opportunity to be the voice of a child, Mark said “YES,” and joined in on training classes right away. He knew he had an opportunity to facilitate change or to continue to “bury his head in the sand” so to speak.

Mark took on a case of three children and advocates for them in court.  The case can be sad and challenging and also fulfilling and rewarding to see the difference he makes in the lives of children. Mark and his wife Brandy, live in Stillwater, with their son Jackson who attends Westwood Elementary School. Mark is the director of marketing and sales for the Iron Monk brewery, manages rental properties with his wife, and is a talented photographer.

Can you join Mark, and our other wonderful volunteers and staff to make a difference in the life of a child? Please call CASA for Kids at 405-624-2242 or visit our website www.casaforkids.com.
