Construction begins on new Strickland Park Skate Park this week

Media Release

Construction is scheduled to begin on Strickland Park’s new skate park the week of July 30. The existing skate park will close during this time.

The park’s playground area will remain open, but the gravel parking lot will also close during construction.

Construction is anticipated to last six to eight weeks.

Plans for the new skate park include a triangular-shaped zone complete with a variety of new bank ramps, bump-to-rails and quarter pipes.

Stillwater City Council selected the skate park renovations as the recipient of the 2017 Community Development Block Grant at its regular meeting on May 1, 2017.

The projected cost of the project is $242,254. The Community Development Block Grant allocation is for $121,127.

Strickland Park is at 300 S. Main St.
