Kevin Fowler to Take the Helm of Bank SNB Stillwater Market


Former Stillwater President Rex Horning Appointed Vice Chairman

STILLWATER, Okla. (April 27, 2017) –

Effective May 1, Kevin Fowler will become president of the Stillwater market for Bank SNB. Rex Horning, who has served as Stillwater market president since May 2001, will take on a new role as vice chairman to focus on client development, integration of new product lines and other strategic Bank SNB initiatives.

“Rex and Kevin are the picture of loyalty and commitment – both to Bank SNB and the Stillwater community,” said Russ Teubner, chairman of the board for Southwest Bancorp, Inc., the holding company for Bank SNB. “Rex has been a tremendous local leader, and we are excited for he and Kevin to collaborate to advance how we serve customers in Payne County.”

As market president, Fowler will be responsible for attracting, retaining and expanding relationships with retail and commercial customers in the Stillwater area, as well as managing talent, operations and product delivery to meet their needs. He will oversee underwriting and credit decisions while maintaining a portfolio of mid-sized and large commercial loans. Fowler will routinely report on market performance to Bank SNB’s senior leadership and board of directors, when needed.

Horning will continue to work full time for Bank SNB as vice chairman. His new responsibilities will include managing the integration of expanded financial products while continuing to secure new business for the bank and support company initiatives in Stillwater and other markets.

Fowler has spent 18 years with Bank SNB, most recently as a senior vice president and commercial banking manager, and has more than 30 years of experience in Stillwater’s banking industry. He, his wife, Kris, and their children Anna and Will all graduated from Stillwater High School and continued their education at Oklahoma State University. They attend St. Francis Catholic Church.

Fowler is chairman of the Stillwater Area Sports Association and a member of the Stillwater Medical Center finance committee and Stillwater Public Education Foundation board of trustees. He is president-elect for the Stillwater Area United Way board of directors and a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma Class XXV.

Horning became president of Bank SNB’s Stillwater market in May 2001 and led the company to expanded market share and profitable growth. After graduating from Oklahoma State University and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking, he went on to accrue more than four decades of banking experience in Oklahoma, Kansas and Alabama.

Horning is an integral member of the Stillwater community and has been honored as Stillwater Citizen of the Year and the OSU Spears School of Business 100 for 100 graduate and Orange Star award recipient. He serves on the OSU Foundation board of governors, Stillwater Leadership roundtable and leadership council of the Stillwater Smart Community initiative. Horning is a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma Class XXI.
