Makeover Masterpiece

Kaylin Easter is our makeover for April. Kaylin is a waitress at Nagoya and she enjoys working, reading, shopping, and hanging out with friends. The oldest of three sisters, Kaylin’s mother is going to nursing school and her father works at National Standard. She is a new client to LaRitz Salon & Spa and was recommended to us from our very own Add Driskel.

When Kaylin arrived, she had over an inch of new growth and faded yellow ends. She wanted to achieve a lighter and brighter blonde. First, Add performed a root retouch with lightener and added Redken’s pH Bonder to her formula to maintain the integrity of Kaylin’s hair. Once the desired lightness was achieved, Add chose a cool icy toner to be applied all over. This neutralized the unwanted warmth while giving Kaylin her desired shade of blonde. For her haircut, Kaylin only wanted to remove her dead ends. Add used a point-cutting technique to provide shape without leaving any hard lines and to maintain the length. Add first sprayed Pureology’s Miracle Filler all over to nourish Kaylin’s freshly lightened hair. She then used a round brush to blow dry. Before curling Kaylin’s hair, Add sprayed Redken’s Iron Shape to protect the hair from any heat damage. Redken’s Shine Flash was the final product used to create additional shine in the hair.

Add applied all bareMinerals products to Kaylin’s face. Add started out by using PrimeTime foundation primer in Fair. Light 2 cream concealer was then applied to the under-eye area.  Because Kaylin’s face tends to be dry, Add chose the bareSkin serum foundation in the color, Bare Porcelain. The Skinny Dip bronzer was used for contouring. The Secret’s Out was the perfect blush for Kaylin’s fair skin. Light colored eyeshadow, Celebrate, was applied all over Kaylin’s eyelid. Then, Wonderlust, a darker shade, was used in the outer corners.  Kaylin has eyelash extensions, therefore Add chose to line with a powder blush instead of a pencil. Frame & Define eyebrow pencil in Universal Light was chosen to enhance Kaylin’s brows. For her lips, Manta, liquid matte lip color was used. Mineral Veil was swept over everything for a flawless finish.
