Spring Blooms with Events in the Garden

Story and images provided by The Botanic Garden at OSU

Nature is blessing us with another blooming season at The Botanic Garden.  The daffodils and crocus have bloomed and now it’s time for the forsythia and flowering quince to show off some color.

Spring also brings yoga back to the garden, however, it will be held on Wednesday evenings this spring instead of Thursday.  Sessions start on April 4 at 5:45 pm and will continue on Wednesdays through May 23.

On the second Tuesday of each month the Payne County Master Gardeners host a Gardening series in the Educational Center at TBG. This lecture series starts at 6:00pm and is open and free to the public. The April topic will be about Herbs with Jacqui Savage and then DIY Garden Projects with the Payne County Master Gardeners.

May kicks off the season with Open Houses, G-scale Model Train, TBG Kids activities and our first concert in Laura’s Bandstand. This year we will open our concerts on May 18 with “SteelWind” an all-original bluegrass band out of Oklahoma with co-writers Blake Parks and Michael Henneberry. On June 1st, we welcome back MoeTowne Alex and the Nightview Band.  Concerts begin at 5:45 p.m. and attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket.

Our outdoor concert series continues to connect one of Stillwater’s best kept secrets with the Stillwater community.  In order for the community to continue to experience these free concerts we rely on the support of our sponsors. Our sponsors have stepped up again for this year and we say “Thank You” to Hideaway Pizza, Kicker, OSU’s Office of the President, Daddy O’s Music Co., Flourishes Flowers, Décor and More, and the Arts and Humanities Council of Stillwater.

If you would like to help sponsor the free concerts at The Botanic Garden at OSU, or would like more information about events please contact Laura Payne at [email protected]. For your contribution we will add your logo to our banners that are displayed during the concerts as well as putting your logo on our flyers.
