(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / July 7, 2016) – The Stillwater Fire Department, in partnership with Safe Kids Tulsa Area, The Children’s Hospital at Saint Francis and Oklahoma Highway Safety Office, is hosting a car seat checkup event. The event will be at Stillwater Fire Department Headquarters, 1506 S. Main St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19.
Nationally certified technicians will be demonstrating how to correctly install a car seat or booster seat and check those which have already been installed. All children in the state of Oklahoma under the age of eight must be in a child restraint system.
There are a limited number of car seats available for $10 to those who receive government assistance. To purchase one of these, you must provide proof of the government assistance and the child must be present or the expecting mother must be within two months of delivery. There is a limit of one seat per child and two seats per family.
