The Stillwater Junior Service League (JSL) and the Central Oklahoma Community Action Agency (COCAA) have joined together again to launch the Operation Christmas Store for their combined mission to assist local families during the 2018 holiday season.

Operation Christmas Store serves income eligible families in Payne County. It’s a great way for eligible families to ‘buy’ new Christmas gifts for their children by completing a few hours of community service. The store is set up by age, gender, and price point. Shoppers can select one gift from each price range per child, 18 years or younger. Families also get stocking stuffers, wrapping paper, socks/underwear, and a box of food donated from the Harvest II collection.

“Christmas is one of the most wonderful times of the year and JSL is so thankful to have the opportunity to lend a hand to those in need,” said Grace Anne Fath. “I am humbled to be the chair for Operation Christmas this year and to be working with such amazing women toward the goal of assisting families as much as possible in having a memorable Christmas holiday.”

For the last eight years, the two organizations have worked with Payne County businesses and members of the community to create a festive and happy atmosphere for all qualified families during the holiday season. Donations will be taken through December 7, 2018 at the following locations: YMCA, Starbucks, ReStore, COCAA, and Kicker.

The Operation Christmas Season wraps up with the Stillwater Christmas Parade of Lights on Thursday, December 6.  This year’s theme is “North Pole Fantasy” and it is sure to be another magical holiday season!
