Women with Wings Gala set for March 28

Story and images proved by Wings of Hope

“Becoming” has been chosen as the theme for the 2018 annual Wings of Hope “Women With Wings Gala.”  This year’s event will be held at the Taylor’s Dining Room and Great Hall in the new hospitality wing of the Human Sciences Building on the OSU campus, with Chef Tiffany Poe serving as Master Chef and Chef Heather Tisdale coordinating the event, including décor and cocktail hour. Dr. Jonathon Drummond will emcee and Garden Party Florists will partner with Chef Tisdale to beautify the venue. The event will be Wednesday evening, March 28th at 6:00 pm and will feature a live and silent auction. Live auction items include an autographed guitar from Toby Keith, tennis lessons with OSU Tennis Coach Chris Young, a stay at Chef Tiffany Poe’s Grandview Inn Bed and Breakfast in Pawhuska, and much more!

This year’s theme of “Becoming” is open to each individual’s interpretation. For example, someone who has been in a domestic violence situation might be “becoming” free from the abuse. The general public might be “becoming” more knowledgeable of the need for Wings of Hope within the community. An individual might consider “becoming” a donor or volunteer with Wings of Hope. Even Wings of Hope is “becoming” more prominent in the community with their new store, Thrifty Butterfly where all sale proceeds go to back to Wings of Hope.

Individual seats for the gala are $100 and sponsorships range from $500 – $5000. All proceeds from the gala benefit victim’s services and programs. Email [email protected] to inquire or reserve seats.

Wings of Hope is grateful to donors and the community volunteers for their involvement and support.

Wings of Hope provides many services including counseling for victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault.

About Wings of Hope

Wings of Hope has been serving this community since 1979. It’s important to continue to spread awareness to the public, as the demands for these life-saving services are rising. The agency serves a five-county area with a branch office in Perry, and a safe shelter in Stillwater that is available 24/7. Wings of Hope provides services of Safety, Hope, and Empowerment to those who are victims of domestic abuse. Domestic violence is a pattern of behavior used to establish power and control over another person through fear and intimidation, often including the threat or use of violence. Domestic violence may include emotional abuse, economic abuse, sexual abuse, child abuse, threats, privilege, intimidation, isolation, and a variety of other behaviors used to maintain fear, intimidation, and power. The mission of Wings of Hope is to break these cycles of violence.
