A Community that serves

Story provided by Payne County Youth Services

Payne County Youth Services is grateful to the Chinese Community in Stillwater, Oklahoma.  Through a joint effort with OSU Chinese Visiting Scholar Association, OSU Faculty and Staff Association, and the Stillwater Chinese Baptist Church, these amazingly caring people were able to order high-quality masks through personal connections early in the development of the COVID-19 crisis. They have been actively donating the masks to organizations that serve vulnerable populations ever since.

PCYS Executive Director Janet Fultz wears one of the donated masks.

PCYS will use these masks for the Emergency Youth Shelter, Transitional Living Program clients, and the staff who serve them. Janet Fultz, Executive Director at PCYS, said, “While it appears we can use cloth masks right now, having these higher-level safety masks on hand will allow us to respond immediately and properly should the COVID-19 spread in our area become worse. We are honored to have been included in the distribution of these potentially life-saving masks.”
