For each petal on the shamrock that brings a wish your way – good health, good luck, and happiness, for today and every day. – Irish Proverb

What started as a celebration of the patron saint of Ireland has become a time for people all across the globe to celebrate the Irish culture with dancing, unique foods, and gallons of green. They say everyone is at least a little bit Irish on St. Patrick’s Day – and we agree! Whether you take on St. Patty’s Day with full gusto and inoculate yourself from pinches in head-to-toe green or not, we still recommend you savor a little Irish flavor and soak up the residual good luck!

Top o’ the Mornin’ to Ya!

What better way to welcome the day, than over a plate of green eggs and ham?  The doors at Eskimo Joe’s will open at 8:00 a.m. to continue their long-standing tradition of serving up platefuls of green eggs and ham, alongside green pancakes and Joe’s cups brimming with green beer. Be sure to head back at 10:00 p.m. when Brandon Clark & The Big Rig Band will play live with no cover charge.

Once you are full of green on the inside – stop in at Joe’s Clothes to grab this year’s St. Patrick’s Day t-shirt and keep those people-pinchers at bay! Chillwater also has green gear to get you in the Irish spirit with a wide selection of Comfort Color t-shirts, unstructured ball caps, green travel cups; and the best news – everything green is 15% off beginning March 1st.

Give it in Green.

We all know to send flowers on Valentine’s Day or anniversaries, how about surprising someone with a green houseplant or green flower arrangement? The Little Shop of Flowers can help you arrange just what you need in order to send a little bit o’ luck to a friend or loved one. Also, check out the selection at Big Creek Nursery & Landscape – they are sure to inspire your green thumb just in time for spring.

Sweeten the Pot!

If you are looking for a sweet treat that will satisfy both lads and lassies alike, Mojo’s Rock N’ Bowl Grill is a must stop and their Leprechaun Monster Malt will change your whole world. Imagine green, vanilla bean ice cream blended with malt and caramel, covered in milk chocolate and house-made rainbow whipped cream, then topped with gold sprinkles, sweet and sour candy, and finished with a handful of butterscotch. This is most definitely your pot o’ gold at the end of your rainbow!

Downtown Stillwater’s Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory is rolling out their March Special with the Pot O’ Gold Caramel Apple. A delicious green apple covered in chocolate and topped with gold candy pieces and a lucky shamrock – it’s a good thing their Irish-inspired apples are available March 1st through March 17th because you’ll have a hankering for more than one, we’re certain!

It’s All About the Green Beer.

What’s St. Patrick’s Day without a robust, after-hours toast anyway? Grab your crew and create your own St. Patty’s Day Bar Crawl.

Gatsby: A Modern Day Speakeasy would be a great place to start with their burgers and brats special, green Irish cocktails, and one of the greatest cover bands in Stillwater – Cover 2. They are sure to know your favorite Irish jig!

Next up? Downtown Stillwater’s Iron Monk Brewing Company – they partner with Purdy Q’s and will provide unique Irish fare including an $11.00 special: a Rueben sandwich, shepherd’s pie, and cheesecake. Iron Monk Stilly Wheat will be undoubtedly green and live music will be on scene as well. (Editor’s Note: We hear the Stillwater Pipe Band will be on hand to get you in the spirit of the day!)

Last, but not least, stop at the Nineteenth Hole for their green beer, live music, pool tables, darts, and golf simulator. They are now serving food and will have pizza bites until close!
