ADDITIONAL UPDATE!!!! Fireworks show canceled; make up date TBA
(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / July 4, 2016 at 10 a.m.) — Due to the rain, the City of Stillwater’s Chickasaw Boomer Blast fireworks show has been canceled for Monday, July 4 and Tuesday, July 5.
“With the wet ground conditions, parking is not possible at the park,” said City of Stillwater PIO Sherry Fletcher. “The City will be looking at dates and an announcement for the make-up date will be made soon.”

UPDATE: Fireworks Show Postponed until Tuesday, July 5
(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / July 3, 2016 at 3:30 p.m.) — Due to the rain, City of Stillwater’s Chickasaw Boomer Blast fireworks show scheduled for Monday, July 4 will be postponed until Tuesday, July 5.
According to city organizers, Boomer Lake Park is too wet to park vehicles on the grass; however, the annual Family Fishing Tournament will take place as scheduled on Monday.
City of Stillwater PIO Sherry Fletcher said, “Other than moving the fireworks show from Monday to Tuesday, the event should be the same.”

Boomer Blast is a Stillwater 4th of July tradition. Independence Day in Stillwater wouldn’t be complete without ending the day Boomer Lake with the annual fireworks show.
If you plan to participate in the 19th Annual Family Fishing Tournament, registration is at 5:30am with the tournament beginning at 6am at the south boat ramp at Boomer Lake. Registration costs $15 per team, with teams consisting of up to four family members. There are both boat and non-boat categories.
There will also be free inflatables and food truck vendors before the fireworks show begins. Fireworks are illegal in the city limits, so if you want to end the day with a bang, gather your friends and family, load up your lawn chairs and blankets, and get to Boomer Lake Park early to get a good spot. Parking lots open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 9:35 p.m.
If Chickasaw Boomer Blast is rained out, the firework show will be on Tuesday, July 5, or it will be delayed until Labor Day Monday, September 5, 2016.
