Mr. Bill Greer is being honored for the month of February as CASA for Kids volunteer of the month.

CASA for Kids serves over 300 children in Payne and Logan Counties. CASAs recent expansion into Logan County has been gaining recognition through hosting events in the community, which is how Mr. Greer heard about CASA. Bill attended a Chamber of Commerce Coffee, where a CASA volunteer was speaking. A few months later, after thinking about this opportunity, he applied online and began training. Mr. Greer took a case serving 5 children.

He drives to three different cities to visit the siblings. He quickly noticed that although he had known his children less than a year, he was the most consistent adult in their lives. He has seen some of the children he serves in 11 different living placements in under a year. Mr. Greer recognizes the value of the relationship he has with the children. He is a stable figure in their lives in a very unstable time. Bill enjoys working with the different agencies and family members to be a voice for the children. He and our other Logan County volunteers have created a great network of support.

CASA stands for “Court Appointed Special Advocate”. Please visit www.casaforkids.com to learn more. Can you donate, attend our fundraiser, or volunteer your time? Say YES to CASA!
