Brenda Osiek is the CASA April Volunteer of the month. She was raised in Witcher, Ok and attended Edmond schools. After graduating from OSU, Brenda moved to Cushing where she met her husband. Brenda is an Electronic Technician and the owner of Circuit Assembly and Design. She and her husband have 2 children and are expecting their first granddaughter in April.
As Brenda’s children moved through their school years she began to notice the struggles that other children were experiencing. She realized that not all children were being raised in a safe and loving environment. She had considered fostering, however that was not something their family could pursue. Brenda’s curiosity was piqued after she saw a friend post on Facebook about going to court with her CASA child. She reached out to her friend to ask some questions and then researched CASA in Payne County. She consulted her friend Alton Carter, a local Youth Minister, who grew up in the foster care system and is a former police officer as well as the author of The Boy Who Carried Bricks. After all her research she knew that becoming a CASA Volunteer was something she could do to help hurting children.
Her family moved to Stillwater and she became a volunteer in Payne County. She was assigned her first case 10 months ago and has been serving 4 children.
