CASA for Kids is proud to present Kim Jenkins as the volunteer of the month for December. Kim has been a resident of Stillwater for the last 22 years. She and her husband have three children ages 25, 20, and 16. Kim learned about CASA from a longtime friend who was a volunteer and now works for CASA for Kids of Payne and Logan Counties. As her own children got older, Kim thought, “I can do this!” and she said yes to CASA. Kim has been a volunteer for nine months and has served two children. She has seen one case end in adoption and another case end with the family being reunified. Beyond being able to form a relationship with a child who needed a voice, Kim was blessed to also foster a relationship with a mother who needed her listening ear and guidance. Lifelong relationships have formed that will change the future of families here in Payne County, thanks to Kim who said “YES” to the most vulnerable children in our community. If you want to learn more about saying yes to CASA, visit CASA or call 405-624-2242.
