City arranges informational workshop on Business Improvement Districts

Media Release

The City of Stillwater is partnering with the Center for Economic Development Law to hold an informational workshop on the establishment of Business Improvement Districts (BIDs). The workshop will be held on Monday, Sept. 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Stillwater Public Library Auditorium.

The workshop’s purpose is to identify the citizens’ interest level and willingness to lead, develop and administer commercial district organizations. Stillwater property owners, business owners and residents are encouraged to attend.

“The City of Stillwater has received many inquiries about establishing Business Improvement Districts,” City Manager Norman McNickle said. “Arranging this workshop is a way of addressing these requests and providing the tools and resources necessary to move forward.”

Leaders from the OKC Plaza District and Downtown OKC will hold discussions on planning, programming, funding and budgeting. See the workshop’s agenda at stillwater.org/files/news-releases/Agenda-for-9.30.2019-Workshop.pdf.
