City employees help develop award-winning climate tracking tool

The City of Stillwater celebrates employee contributions to an award-winning climate tracking tool. Emergency Management Director Rob Hill (left), representing the City of Stillwater, accepts the 2019 Outstanding Planning Tool award with Rachel Riley of the Southern Climate Impacts Planning Program. Both Hill and Assistant City Manager Paula Dennison (not pictured) were instrumental in the development of the Simple Planning Tool for Oklahoma Climate Hazards, which is a website that serves as a hub for Oklahoma climate data.  

The tool won the American Planning Association, Oklahoma Chapter’s award for Outstanding Public Outreach, Program, Project, Tool, Community Initiative.  The award was presented at the Quad-State Planning Conference held in in early October in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
