(STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA / Aug. 18, 2016) – The City of Stillwater, American Airlines and Oklahoma State University invite the public to participate in the first commercial flight festivities celebrating the inaugural flight from Stillwater Regional Airport (SWO) to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) Tuesday, Aug. 23 with an open house and refreshments taking place from noon to 2 p.m. and speakers at 1:15 p.m.
“We are very fortunate to have American Airlines jet service offered here in Stillwater,” Mayor Gina Noble said. “This will not only make it easier for our residents to fly from their hometown, but it will also expand travel opportunities for our local businesses to connect with national and international clients and boost this region’s economy.”
Two daily, nonstop flights to and from SWO and DFW begin with the inaugural flight arriving from DFW at 2 p.m. and the inaugural flight departing SWO at 2:30 p.m.
“It’s exciting to see the years of hard work and cooperation with American Airlines to bring commercial flight service to our region come to fruition,” Stillwater Regional Airport Director Gary Johnson said. “We hope to see our residents at the inaugural event and soon at the American check-in desk departing on their flights from Stillwater.”
RSVPs are not required to attend the event; however, parking is limited. The airport is at 2020-1 W. Airport Road.

The airport recently entered into agreements with local car rental agencies for the benefit of travelers to Stillwater. OSU-Stillwater Community Transit is also providing regular bus service Monday through Friday beginning at 6:20 a.m. and ending at 7 p.m. via the Blue Route.

SWO-DFW
Departs SWO at 7:00 a.m. Arrives at DFW at 8:15 a.m.
Departs SWO at 2:35 p.m. Arrives at DFW at 3:50 p.m.
