The annual Dancing with Daddy and Mummy and Son events have been adapted into one event for 2022. Stillwater Community Center staff is planning an outdoor summer dance party that will allow attendees to have an evening of dancing under the stars while still taking precautions to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
The dances were canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns and have not been held since.
“Canceling any event is a difficult decision but the pandemic has made it impossible to safely hold these dances the way everyone is used to,” Stillwater Community Center Manager Stephanie Kinder said. “Families have been missing the memories they make together at these dances, so it was important for us to change our model and give residents something new to look forward to.”
The outdoor dance is expected to take place this summer, but the official date and location are dependent on construction scheduled for the community center’s south entrance.
Full details will be released on stillwater.org/news and the City’s social media pages closer to the event.
