Construction for Phase 2 of Strickland Park Began Feb. 9

Story provided by City of Stillwater

Construction for Phase 2 of the Strickland Park playground began Feb. 9, 2021. The playground will be closed as crews work to install additional sidewalks and concrete footings for the new shade structure.

The timeline for Phase 2 has not been finalized, but residents can expect the playground to open and close as needed while construction projects are completed. Construction scheduling will be dependent on the weather. A list of other Parks, Trails, and Open Spaces can be found on our Community page.

Strickland Park Phase 2 is a cooperative project between the City of Stillwater and Mya’s Promise to create an inclusive and accessible play area and community gathering place. Phase 1 was completed in the summer of 2020.

Phase 2 will consist of:

  • More play equipment
  • Additional sidewalks
  • Shade structure
  • Benches, picnic tables
