Vickie Sturgeon will be presenting the film Dead Man Walking on Thursday, August 5 at 6 pm. This movie is free and open to the public. The movie Dead Man Walking is the dramatization of the non-fiction book by Sister Helen Prejean. This is the story of a nun who becomes the spiritual adviser to a death row inmate. Tim Robbins wrote the screenplay and directed the film. Dead Man Walking stars Sean Penn as Matthew Poncelet and Susan Sarandon — who received the Academy Award for Best Actress in her portrayal of Sister Helen. Bruce Springsteen was nominated for his song, Dead Man Walking.
