The dog days of summer have arrived. While my husband and I are not fans of Oklahoma’s hot summers, we love the fourth of July as well as the freedom that summer gives our family to travel.
Every year, we host family at our home for some amazing food (Jefferson is a fantastic cook and grill-master) and fireworks. We live just outside the city limits in an area where our neighbors also set off fireworks, so it’s like one big fireworks display all around us. That’s one of the things I have always loved about living where we do.
To me, July is celebrating the USA’s birthday with fireworks and bbq, chasing lightning bugs and star-gazing, and long days spent at the lake, fishing and frolicking in the water.
However you are spending your summer, we hope you are making it a happy and safe one!
