Story by Brooke Kimmel, Aging Advocates
This year is the year to really make a difference in our community. It has been an incredibly difficult year across the board. Some of us have been able to work remotely, go back to school, shop with precautions, and even have dinner with our immediate family. However, there is a community that has not had those luxuries. That community is our seniors in facilities and resident communities throughout Payne County. They have not been able to take advantage of those things that we now consider luxuries.
The Holiday Cheer Drive is a great way for us to give to the exact people who could use a little extra love and cheer this year but are still socially isolated due to CoVid.
We are looking for sponsors and individual donors for our Holiday Cheer Drive! If you are a local business and would like to participate please contact Brooke Kimmel at 405-332-6066 for more information. If you are an individual looking to donate please deliver the items to 206 S. Main, STE B. in Stillwater, or call for a pick-up.
Our goal is to serve 400+ in Payne County with gifts like these:
- Throw Blankets
- Non-skid Socks (Variety of sizes)
- Men’s Crew Socks
- No-slip Slippers
- Winter Hats
- Women’s and Men’s Sweatpants/Sweatshirts Large, XL, XXL, and 3X

We cannot physically be with them but we can show our love and remind them that they are not forgotten. We know this would put some beautiful smiles on a lot of faces and warm some wonderful hearts!
