Modella Gallery is pleased to present Home Sweet, Oklahoma exhibit which highlights the work of 27 artists expressing their interpretations of the theme, Oklahoma. The exhibit runs May 30-June 29.
This exhibition emphasizes the strength, beauty and variety that is Oklahoma. Using an assortment of mediums and materials, artists in the exhibition have created pieces interpreting what they see around them in a place they call home. Artists include William Atkinson, Martha Avrett, Marty Avrett, Ginnie Baer, Mohd Bilbeisi, Dean Bloodgood, Phillip Brown, Charlie Byrd, Peggy Cook, Ken Crowder, Leslie Dallam, Charla Enns, Brewster Fitz, Linda Godbold, Priscilla Kinnick, Jena Kodesh, Leslie Anne Martin, Audrey Schmitz, Randy Sietsinger, Yu Takebe, Jude Tolar, Ron Walker, Carla Waugh, Jill Webber, Bonnie Weeks, Steve Whitfield and Jeff Williams.
Other activities planned during this exhibit are a silk scarf marbling make and take on June 6, documentary film showing of “Oklahoma Shakedown” June 13, father and son poetry and singer/songwriter duo on June 15, book discussion June 20 and an artists talk on June 23.
Home Sweet, Oklahoma, is a collaborative effort led by Modella Gallery and those artists answering the call to artist with the Oklahoma theme. Works displayed are from artists all across Oklahoma.
Modella Gallery is a non-profit art gallery dedicated to bringing contemporary arts to Stillwater, Oklahoma. Intended to be a conduit for the arts, the gallery presents a continuing program of art exhibitions of local and national artists, visual, music and performance events, screenings, and special projects. Modella Gallery is located at 721 South Main Street in historic downtown Stillwater, OK. Hours are Thursday and Friday 5-8p; Saturday 11a-5p, and Sunday 11a-3p.
