Oklahoma State University’s Allied Arts welcomes innovative dance company.
STILLWATER, Okla. – Perpetual Motion Dance, an Oklahoma City-based performance company whose mission is to create, develop and inspire innovative dance, is headed to Stillwater for a unique performance. The company blends post-modern and aerial dance techniques with a signature grace and technical ingenuity to create dance on all planes. Perpetual Motion Dance will be demonstrating these talents at its performance on Oct. 25 at 8 p.m. on the Seretean Center Concert Hall stage.
In its 14th season of creating original modern and aerial dance, Perpetual Motion Dance is known for bringing strong images, memories and feelings to mind. The company relies on deep inward feelings and aspires to harness the energies of the human imagination.
The company will be presenting its original contemporary and aerial dance entitled, “Wanderlust.” “Wanderlust” explores the desire to break the grid of our daily routines, pursuing new paths and experiences. Aerial apparatuses such as silks, harnesses and iron squares will lift the performance off the ground and into the air.
In addition to presenting original concerts and tours, Perpetual Motion Dance is committed to educating both adults and youth through classes, workshops and residencies. Learn more at perpetualmotiondance.org.
Tickets for the performance are $15 for adults and $10 for OSU students and children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased online at tickets.okstate.edu or by phone at 405-744-7509. Tickets will also be available at the Seretean Center Concert Hall the evening of the performance beginning at 6:30. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
The Perpetual Motion Dance performance is the second installment in the 2016-2017 OSU Allied Arts series.
