This month’s makeover is our very own, Tessie Johnson. Tessie has recently transitioned from working the front desk to being an associate under senior stylist, Jamie Wilson. She graduated from the cosmetology program at Meridian Technology Center in March. Tessie enjoys traveling, hanging out with friends, and furthering her education in the beauty industry. She has two dogs, is the youngest of five kids, and she is a new aunt of a little boy. Tessie has two brothers who have served in the United States Navy.
During her time at Meridian, Tessie volunteered to be a model for a tape-in hair extension class. She enjoyed having long hair for several months but decided to remove the extensions when summer approached. Kassi Bock was the stylist who created Tessie’s new look. She darkened her base color with a dark warm mahogany. Kassi then balayaged her hair to create more dimension before adding the bright color. When the desired lightness was achieved, Kassi applied a bold magenta over all of the blonde. Kassi used Redken’s pH Bonder in all of her formulas to maintain the integrity of Tessie’s hair throughout the process.
Tessie’s hair had not been cut while she had the extensions. Kassi evened out her length and trimmed the layers all over. To blow dry, she used Pureology’s Style + Protect Root Lift in the top and crown area and Shine Bright Taming Serum on her mid-lengths and ends. After Tessie’s hair was dry, Kassi created beach waves with the Bio Ionic Goldpro smoothing iron. She then sprayed the new Wind Tossed Texture finishing spray for instant texture and movement with added shine.
