Jessica Phillips is this month’s makeover. She has been a guest at LaRitz Salon and Spa for a year. Jessica is a sophomore in college and she works with developmentally disabled adults at MPower. Jessica enjoys traveling and playing video games. She has been married for almost two years and she has two cats.
Jessica came into LaRitz with medium golden blonde hair. She and Candice, her stylist, discussed her challenges with having naturally curly hair and dramatically changing her color. They decided on a vibrant copper-red all over. Jessica did not want to take too much length off and she needed more curl on top and an easier style with less frizz. Candice trimmed the length and used texturizing techniques to remove weight and add interior layers. To style, Candice shampooed Jessica’s hair with Redken Curvaceous shampoo and conditioner. She then applied Curvaceous Spiral Lock (high hold gel), Curl Refiner (curl defining cream), and Glow Dry Oil (smoothing protective blow dry oil). After dispersing the product throughout Jessica’s hair, Candice used the diffuser to dry Jessica’s hair naturally with less frizz. The finished look was smooth and controlled natural curls.
For her makeup application, Candice prepped Jessica’s skin with bareMinerals PrimeTime in Fair followed by Medium 1 concealer. Candice chose the BarePro foundation in Aspen for Jessica’s complexion. Next Candice swept Jessica’s cheeks with Call My Blush. For Jessica’s eyes, Candice first applied Celebrate as a base all over the lid, Pure in the crease, and Perspective on the outer corners. Then Candice defined Jessica’s eyebrows with the Universal Dark pencil. Lash Domination completed Jessica’s eyes. For Jessica’s lips, Candice used Borderline GenNude lipliner and Fresh Matte lip color. To finish, Candice used Illuminating Mineral Veil all over Jessica’s face to give her a dewy look.
