Makeover Masterpiece

Story and photos provided by LaRitz Salon & Spa

Roberta Mitchell is our stunning makeover for April. She moved to Stillwater in 1978 and graduated from Stillwater High School in 1979. She has two children, James Joseph (JJ) who will be 29 in August, and Samuel who will be 22 in October. They are her pride and joy. She currently works in Cushing for Premier Trading & Transportation, LLC. Roberta is big into music and the arts, as well as traveling. She hopes that time will allow her to do some exploring and hiking this spring, and possibly travel to Jamaica this fall. The rest of the time Roberta is busy working and trying to renovate her home. Roberta had never been into our salon before but was given a gift certificate from her brother and sister-in-law for some much needed pampering.

Brooklyn Stevens was lucky enough to be able to give Roberta a completely new look. During the consultation, Roberta had some inspiration pictures and it was obvious that she was ready to step outside of her box to do something completely different. The first feature Brooklyn noticed was Roberta’s striking blue eyes. Roberta wanted to be lighter but was nervous about seeing too much lightness right by her face. Doing a balayage with a darker shade at her root would alleviate her fears. Brooklyn chose a mahogany red for her base color and applied a full head of balayage. After the desired lightness was achieved, Brooklyn amped up the blonde by adding warm peach shades. Peaches and corals are very on trend for 2019 so this was a perfect way to stay current while still being wearable everyday. After her color was complete, Brooklyn trimmed Roberta’s hair length and added more layers, creating a fun bob shape. A beautiful beach wave was created using the BioIonic Gold Pro Smoothing iron. The way her fringe fell over Roberta’s eyes really made the color of them pop.

Before Audrey Romero applied Roberta’s makeup, Candice Newsom applied a full set of classic lash extensions to Roberta. This took her eyes from beautiful to “wow!” Now Roberta won’t have to worry about applying mascara in the morning before her busy day. Audrey used peach toned colors throughout her makeup application. She created a smokey eye using a peach shadow all over and a dark plum in the crease, outer corners and on the bottom lash line. A beautiful dark neutral pink shade of lipstick added just the right amount of color to Roberta’s lips. The look was finished with a medium coral/pink blush.

Along with her friends and family, Roberta was shocked by her makeover. She had never done something so bold. Roberta absolutely loves her new look and is excited to not have to put on mascara everyday.
