Makeover Masterpiece

Story by LaRitz Salon & Spa

Jamie LaRue is our March makeover. She is the owner of Homestead Meats and Processing. Jamie enjoys spending time with her children and reading. She was referred to stylist Candice by a friend. When Jamie came to LaRitz, she was ready for a more low maintenance hair color.

Not only was Jamie looking for an easier style to maintain, she also wanted her new look to bring her more confidence. Jamie has been highlighting her hair for several years. Her natural color is a medium to dark brown. To help lower the color’s upkeep, she talked to her stylist, Candice, about returning to her natural color. Although it may seem straightforward, tinting the hair several shades darker can be challenging. Candice wanted to create depth and avoid the color becoming hollow. To ensure this didn’t happen, Candice added warmth to her formula to replace the pigment that the hair was missing due to the lightening process. The result was a beautiful, rich brown that looked very natural. After the desired color was achieved, Candice cut about four inches from Jamie’s hair. To style, Candice began prepping Jamie’s hair with Redken’s Pillow Proof Primer Spray. This will enhance any product put on after it and it will also help cut down on the blow dry time. Next came Redken’s Extreme Play Safe. This product protects the hair from heat up to 450 degrees. Redken’s Guts was added to the root area for volume and Pureology’s Smooth Perfection Style+Care was applied to the midlengths and ends to create smoothness. Candice used her signature blow out method to give Jamie the perfect style.

After her successful transformation, Jamie said that people didn’t even recognize her. To maintain her results at home, Jamie purchased and treated her hair with Redken’s Extreme system. She said her hair is extremely shiny and it is the healthiest it’s ever been in her life!
