Meridian Technology Center and Stillwater Chamber of Commerce Partner for Virtual Lunchtime Learning: Leading While Shy

Story provided by Meridian Technology Center

Shyness and leadership don’t seem to go together.

Being shy, though, may mean you have some unique leadership strengths you can leverage to make a difference in your organization.

On February 9, as part of the Lunchtime Learning series co-sponsored by the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce and Meridian Technology Center, John Mark Day will present “Leading While Shy.”

During this session, Day will take a close look at what shyness is (and isn’t), how to build your leadership toolkit and how to support those who want to lead from a place of shyness.

John Mark Day

Day currently serves as the Director of Leadership and Campus Life at Oklahoma State University, where he connects, engages and develops students as leaders who make a difference in their communities. He is also a faculty member in OSU’s College of Education and Human Sciences where he teaches courses on leadership and advises capstone projects and dissertations. Day holds a doctorate in higher education leadership and policy from Vanderbilt University, a master of arts degree from Dallas Theological Seminary, and master of science and bachelor of arts degrees from Texas Christian University.

Lunchtime Learning sessions are held from noon to 1 p.m. and will take place virtually using Zoom. Registration for the February 9 training is $10. Lunchtime Learning sessions take place twice a month. For complete descriptions of each session or to enroll, visit meridiantech.edu/lunchtime or contact Marcy Luter at marcyl@meridiantech.edu.
