Meridian Technology Center to Host New Series on Podcast Hosting

Use for Business or Personal Brand

Story provided by Meridian Technology Center

There’s power in podcasting.

In 2020, more than 16 million people described themselves as avid podcast listeners. Are any of them your current or potential customers?

Beginning February 11, Meridian Technology Center will offer an online series highlighting what a business or an individual needs to start their own podcast.

The first session, The Value of Podcasting for Your Business or Personal Brand, will feature a panel of three podcasting veterans who will share how podcasts have impacted their personal brands. Subsequent sessions on February 18 and February 25 will focus on the technical aspects of podcasting and tips on how to launch and grow a podcast.

“The most popular podcast genres – comedy, education and news – have one thing in common, people listen to be entertained or to be informed,” said Justin Smola, Workforce and Economic Development Project Manager at Meridian Technology Center. “A podcast has the potential to position you as an industry expert, help your business reach new audiences and create brand ambassadors from your existing customers.”

Smola added that starting a podcast isn’t as difficult or as expensive as people might think. “It really can be done with as little equipment as a smartphone and a bit of time.”

If you’ve thought of starting a podcast to promote your business or personal brand but weren’t sure where to start, you’ll want to subscribe and push play on this step-by-step series for creating a podcast. Podcast sessions take place at 10 a.m. and will use Zoom.

Each virtual session features local experts sharing tips on building, planning and growing your own show. Attendees can sign up for the complete series or individual sessions. Once participants register, they will receive a link for the session. No refunds will be provided.
