Meridian Technology Center will host Technovation4Education (T4E), a virtual professional development opportunity for educators, June 8-10.
Designed for teachers, teachers, administrators, library media specialists, counselors and administrative support professionals, T4E focuses on helping attendees make the most out of technology available to schools.
T4E features 15 virtual sessions that feature tech topics including Google Classroom, video with Flipgrid and WeVideo, programming, 3D printing and fundraising for classrooms.
When planning this year’s sessions, Workforce and Economic Development Project Manager Justin Smola considered the role technology played in education over the last year as well as the impact that distance learning had on educators. The result is a new daily personal development track that will equip educators with the skills they need to be their best.
“The last year has pushed educators like no other year. They’ve had to master in-person, online, hybrid and asynchronous learning, sometimes all in the same week,” Smola explained. “That was no easy task. When planning T4E it was important for us to recognize that one of the best ways teachers can impact their students is to invest in themselves and their well-being.”
Sessions focused on personal development will address reducing decision fatigue, understanding others by leaning in and laying down personal biases, and creating constructive conversations through the language we use.
T4E’s daily virtual sessions are live from 9–11 am. Registration is $49. Participants will receive the Zoom links before the start of each session. No refunds will be provided. Registration closes May 31. To read full session descriptions or to register visit meridiantech.edu/t4e.
