To assist students moving out of town for the summer, the City of Stillwater will offer students free drop-offs for electronics and bulk items at the Convenience Collection Center, 807 S. Perkins Road, from May 1 to June 29.
Students must present a valid OSU student I.D. to participate. The following items will be accepted:
· Furniture
· Appliances (without Freon)
· Mattresses
· Computers
· Televisions
· Stereos
Sororities and fraternities can place furniture and mattresses in two roll-off containers from April 29 through May 13 at these locations:
· 3rd Avenue and Jefferson
· 3rd Avenue and Garfield
“This collection event really helps the students get rid of bulky items they may not be able to pack with them as they return home for summer vacation,” Waste Management Director Chris Knight said.
Students can also purchase the City’s 35-gallon Pay-As-You-Throw Bags to dispose of extra trash. Bags are sold at the Convenience Collection Center and at local OnCue Express stores for $1.50 for one bag and $7.50 for five bags. (OnCue Express sells bags in packs of five only.)
Pay-As-You-Throw Bags can be brought to the collection center or placed at the curb for regular residential waste collection.
Trailers are prohibited at the Convenience Collection Center.
