Science Café Program: Preserving Family and Organizational History

Science Café OSU is offering a community program November 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Stillwater Public Library. The program “Archival Science: Preserving Family and Organizational History” features two speakers.

David Peters is Head of Archives at the OSU Library. Mallory Covington is with the Manuscripts Department at the Oklahoma History Center.

Preservation basics for photographs, newspaper clippings, letters and notes, film and video will be covered. There will be time for audience questions, door prizes and refreshments.

“This program will be valuable for anyone interested in recommended ways to preserve memorabilia for their family, or organization or school’s history,” said Professor Karen Neurohr, Science Café Coordinator.

Professional Development Credit Forms will be available for public school teachers and librarians.

Sponsors for this Science Café OSU Community Program include the OSU Library, Stillwater Public Library, Oklahoma History Center, OSU Vice-President for Research and the OSU Chapter of Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society.

Science Café events are free and open to the public. No science background is assumed or required.
