The City of Stillwater is proud to serve the senior community; however, staffing issues are presenting challenges across several departments and buildings. To help alleviate those concerns, Thursday Music Night will be moved from the Senior Activity Center, 1015 E. 12th Ave., to the Community Center, 315 W. 8th Ave. for July and August.
Thursday Music Night will be held at the Community Center July 12, July 26, Aug. 9 and Aug. 23 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
“It’s a perfect storm of people retiring, being on medical leave and scheduling issues,” City staffer Barbara Bliss said. “We are fortunate that the Community Center is normally staffed on Thursday evenings, so Music Night can be enjoyed by everyone during this time.”
Bliss added, “We appreciate everyone who helps make the seniors’ Music Night a wonderful event for the community.”
The Senior Activity Center is an open recreation center for anyone ages 50 and older. It offers a variety of programs throughout the week, so there is always something for everyone. It’s opened Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
