Stillwater Blooms with Garden Tours and Festivals

Stillwater is beautiful in every season, but it really blossoms during summer. This month, you won’t want to miss out on two opportunities to explore some of our community’s most beautiful public and private gardens.

 

Payne County Master Gardeners Tour

On Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Payne County Master Gardeners will host a Spring Garden Tour. Featuring four exceptional home landscapes in Payne County, the tour includes a huge vegetable garden, a beautiful shade garden, a winner from the 2017 Oklahoma Gardening Viewers Garden Contest, and finally, the home of OSU President and First Lady, Burns and Ann Hargis.  

The tour homes are located at 517 N. Donaldson Dr., Stillwater; 3323 N. Monroe, Stillwater; 1600 N. Washington, Stillwater; and 2600 W. 92nd St., Perkins.  

Early bird tickets are available for $5 during the week before the tour at the Payne County Extension office or for $7 on the day of the tour at any tour garden.  Start at any home you choose. Proceeds will benefit the Botanic Garden at OSU.

Herb and Succulent Festival

The Botanic Garden at OSU will host the first annual Herb and Succulent Festival on Saturday, June 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at The Botanic Garden.

Herbs and Succulents will be available for purchase. Casey Hentges, Host of Oklahoma Gardening will demonstrate how to build a Vertical Herb Garden. Jacqui Savage will be brewing teas. And the Central Oklahoma Cactus and Succulent Society will be on hand to answer questions.  

The Misspent Ukes will perform from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Other vendors will be present selling soaps, plants, and food.
