School may not be in session yet, but members of the Stillwater High School Marching Band have already put in hours of hard work on the Pioneer Football field preparing their new show for the 2018 Marching season.  After two and half weeks of rehearsals, the Stillwater High School Marching Band will perform music from their new show “kryptonite” for parents, family members, and the community. The public is invited to attend the performance at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13 at the Stillwater High School field House. This free public performance provides the 160 members of the SHS Band and their directors the opportunity to share the hard work with their families and other SHS Band supporters.

This year’s show is inspired by the fictional substance and well-known weakness of Superman: kryptonite. The show features music from Michael Daugherty’s “Metropolis Symphony,” Charles Rochester Young’s “Tempered Steel,” Superman” by Five for Fighting, and “Kryptonite” by Three Doors Down. The band will perform their show “kryptonite” at the SHS Pioneers’ first home football game of the season on Friday, Aug. 31 at Pioneer field.
