Stillwater Regional Airport conducts mock emergency exercise this Saturday, April 20

Media Release

Stillwater Regional Airport would like to give our passengers and visitors a heads-up about a training exercise we are conducting at the terminal this Saturday, April 20.

Team members from the airport, the City of Stillwater’s Fire, Police and Emergency Management departments, American Airlines, the Transportation Security Administration, LifeNet EMS and other community health and safety partners will take part in a full scale airport emergency exercise.

This training exercise will help prepare our partner agencies and community organizations for a potential crisis situation. It is expected to last from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the latest.

This exercise will not affect the flight schedules for our daily American Airlines service or overall airport operations; however, you may see members participating in the exercise while at the airport.

If you have questions about the exercise or see activity you are concerned about while visiting or traveling, you are always encouraged to reach out to a Stillwater Regional Airport, American Airlines or TSA team member at any time. Our passengers’ safety is paramount to us.

Airport Industrial Access Road access Closed at Lakeview/Western intersection Saturday

As part of the exercise, the southern access to Airport Industrial Access Road from the Lakeview and Western intersection will close from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Flyers and visitors should take the northern entrance to Airport Industrial Access Road via Washington Street when traveling to the airport this day.
