Modella Gallery will open a new exhibit, “The Art of Silk” on October 5, 2023. The show will remain on view until November 4, 2023. Enjoy diverse pieces from sculptural forms, framed art, tapestries, and clothing– all made of hand painted silk. The show boasts large scale collaborative silk installations including the Silk Umbrella Forest and the Silk River hanging from the ceiling. Browse a selection of hand painted scarves, clothes, jewellery, and more for sale in the gallery. The exhibit showcases art by the Silk Painters Guild of Oklahoma– a local chapter of Silk Painters International who gather together to learn from each other, to spark creativity, and to share resources and opportunities regarding the ancient and diverse medium of silk painting. Learn and explore the process of silk painting with an interactive demonstration by the artists on October 20th at 4pm during the Art and Wine Walk.
