Makeover Masterpiece

Sue Fairbanks is a Wildlife Professor at Oklahoma State University.  She has a fourteen-year-old daughter, two dogs, and two cats. Sue enjoys fishing, hiking, cooking, and needlework. She has been a guest at LaRitz Salon & Spa for four years and she was ready for a fresh look for the upcoming school year.

Before her transformation, Sue’s morning routine included putting her hair into a ponytail and applying eyeshadow and mascara. Her stylist, Candice Newsom, wanted to give her an updated look that would be easier to fix and maintain.  Sue had medium brown hair with over fifty percent resistant gray at the new growth and faded color on her ends.

With Sue’s blue eyes, warm brown freckles, and natural ginger skin tone, Candice chose to use copper browns for her color. Sue’s hair is naturally very thick. Candice cut off over six inches and added layers for movement and versatility. To prep her hair, Candice used Redken’s Frizz Dismiss shampoo and conditioner, then applied Redken’s Pillow Proof Primer Cream.  The Frizz Dismiss Instant Deflate serum was applied throughout to smooth Sue’s hair while using a round brush.  To finish, Pureology’s Piecing Sculpt and Redken’s Argan-6 oil were mixed together for lasting frizz control and texture.

Brooklyn wanted to use bareMinerals makeup to give Sue a natural look while utilizing products that Sue doesn’t currently use.  First, Brooklyn used Skin Longevity, an anti-aging serum.  bareMinerals recently introduced BAREPRO, a 24-hour, SPF 20, full-coverage liquid foundation.  Warm Light was the color that matched Sue’s complexion perfectly. The bareSkin serum concealer was applied to Sue’s under eyes. The new BAREPRO Contour collection offered the perfect shades to define her face while still looking natural.  For Sue’s eyes, Brooklyn first used Soft Linen 5-in-1 eyeshadow primer. For a defined eye, Mixologist eyeshadow was applied all over, Unearthed in the outer corners, and Head over Heels in the crease.  Brooklyn wanted to give Sue a slight cat eye, so she used Lash Domination Ink Liner. Lash Domination mascara was applied after the liner. Sue’s eyebrows were enhanced by using the Dark Blonde/Medium Brown powder alongside the Universal Dark pencil. Brooklyn then applied Original foundation in Light Beige to seamlessly blend everything together. Lastly, bareMinerals lipstick in Kitty was the perfect nude pink shade for Sue’s skin.

Sue was very surprised and pleased with her new look. She knows it is going to be easier to maintain.
