Judith Karman Bristol Hospice will offer the community a children’s grief workshop on Thursday, August 18, from 8:30-11:30 am at Boomer Lake Shelter #2 and Splash Pad.
“Children don’t often understand what death is. This workshop will help them process in a positive way and with other children who are going through grief. Children heal best through using play and art to express and understand their grief in a healthy manner,” said Michelle Hix, Judith Karman Bristol Hospice bereavement coordinator.
This free workshop will be limited to 15 children, ages 6-11. Some of the activities to help children understand and grow will include creating group paint splash, music, snacks, splash pad run, and color our emotions exercise. Parents are encouraged to have children wear comfortable clothes that they can get wet, paint, and mud on. “This is a time to release, have fun, and just let go,” Hix explains.
