Due to the City’s recent declaration of a state of emergency as a result of one confirmed case of COVID-19 virus in Payne County, some City facilities, events and meetings are seeing closures and cancellations through April 5. The below list is an ongoing compilation of all City closures and cancellations—check the list for updates at http://stillwater.org/news/view/id/531.
All core City services will remain operational and all City employees will report to work as usual. Note: utility disconnection notices can be disregarded until City Council considers an action at its March 23 meeting.
City-owned facilities closed to the public until April 5:

- Stillwater Senior Center
- Stillwater Parks and Recreation office
- Senior Activity Center (closed indefinitely)
- Park shelter rentals
- All Stillwater park restrooms
- Armory Open Gym
- Lake McMurtry: tent & RV camping, restroom facilities

Stillwater City Council, Stillwater Utilities Authority (SUA), and the Stillwater Medical Center Authority will meet as usual and remain open to the public, although the city strongly encourages residents to watch from home via YouTube, Facebook Live, AT&T U-verse channel 99, or Suddenlink channel 14. Stillwater Fire Department (SFD) alters business operations
Stillwater residents should call ahead and schedule an appointment before visiting the Stillwater Fire Administration Building. Residents who have recently been ill or exposed to an ill individual should avoid visiting SFD stations. Please call instead. As always, SFD is available for emergency calls. For questions and scheduling visits, call 405.742.8308.
In addition to some City facility closures and event and meeting cancellations, this declaration highly encourages local restaurants, bars and businesses to impose strict social distancing measures. It began Monday, March 16 at 12 a.m. and will remain in effect until Sunday, April 5—but it can be extended if need be. The City strongly encourages the cancellation of all in-person gatherings. Restaurants, bars and similar facilities are encouraged to limit the number of patrons allowed inside and to pursue take-out or delivery options. Gym facilities are also encouraged to discontinue group activities.
Schedule a time for animal welfare pickup: no drop-offs
Stillwater Animal Welfare will not be accepting visitors who aren’t adopting or searching for their lost pet. If you find an animal or spot a loose dog, please call the shelter at 405.372.0334 to schedule a pickup instead. If you plan on visiting the shelter for any reason, please call ahead. Residents are still encouraged to adopt a new pet during this time—the shelter has many animals awaiting a new home.
Considering ordering take out?
Call your local restaurant first—many restaurants are implementing their own restrictions aside from the City’s order to halt all dine-in options until April 5. Restaurants that do not have drive-thrus may allow pick up orders.
