Community invited to free Storm Spotter Training and Community Awareness presentation

Media Release

Residents of Payne, Logan, and Lincoln counties are invited to a free Storm Spotter Training and Community Awareness presentation on Tuesday, Feb. 13 to learn about the National Weather Service, how to monitor the weather and prepare for weather emergencies.

Training is geared towards storm spotters, but the information is beneficial for anyone who would like to know more about weather and local emergency management programs.  Area emergency managers, along with NWS meteorologists from Norman, will be on site to answer questions and teach you how to spot a potential storm.

This is also a great opportunity for youth scouts to earn merit badges. This presentation is only hosted in Payne County every three years.

This event is free, family-friendly and open to the public. It lasts from 7 to 9 p.m. at the City of Stillwater Community Center Winfrey Houston Theater at 315 W. 8th Ave.
