Makeover Masterpiece

Audrey Billie is this month’s makeover. She is a new team member at our company, currently enrolled in our Associate’s Program. Audrey is gaining advanced education in the areas of color, cutting, esthetics, and customer service. Audrey enjoys reading novels, doing arts and crafts, and makeup application. She is a proud mother of a very active toddler. Her fiancé, Joel, is a driller in the oil and gas industry. They also share their home with three pets.

Being fresh out of school, Audrey has done a lot of experimenting with her look, especially hair color. All of those processes took a toll on the integrity of her hair. Audrey needed something that would improve her hair’s condition and also look more professional. She had recently cut several inches off of her hair to try and remove damage. After several conditioning treatments, her trainer, Brooklyn Stevens, was excited to give her an even shorter cut and much needed color change. Brooklyn began by giving Audrey an undercut. She cut the underneath and sides close to the scalp, while leaving the top and crown area longer and fuller. For an added fun element, Brooklyn cut Audrey’s hairline into an “v” shape. For the color, Brooklyn chose a demi-permanent dark violet red shade. This color gloss is acidic, making it conditioning and shiny. Strategically placed blonde highlights added dimension. Stylist, Lauren Bynum, styled Audrey’s hair. When damp, Lauren used Redken’s Pillow Proof Primer spray, followed by Pureology’s Clean Volume Weightless Mousse. Lauren used the BioIonic Blue Wave square-round brush to give volume, shine, and smoothness. She finished the style with Redken’s new Triple Dry hairspray.

Audrey wanted to showcase her love of makeup so she did her own application. After cleansing and moisturizing, she used bareMinerals Combo Control primer. This was followed by the Correcting Concealer in Light 2. This was mainly applied to the under eye area. Once that was dry, Audrey buffed the Loose Powder Matte Foundation all over for a full coverage look that controls excess oil and mattifies the skin. She then applied a small amount of Invisible Bronze bronzer and Bellini Brunch blush to her cheeks. For her eyes, Audrey chose a combination of warm golds, greens, and browns. She finished her eyes with a liquid liner and Lash Domination mascara. Audrey feels that eyebrows are very important. For this look, Audrey used a combination of a pencil and a powder. This gave her the perfect shape and definition. To complete the application, Audrey used a mixture of brown and purple lip colors to make a customized look.
