Story provided by City of Stillwater

Recently, the City of Stillwater’s Convenience Collection Center (807 S. Perkins Road) was recognized for environmental excellence during the Keep Oklahoma Beautiful annual Environmental Excellence Celebration. The City won the Government Programs award category for municipalities with a population over 50,000.

“We’re very honored to receive such a prestigious recognition for the work we do at the Convenience Collection Center,” Waste Management Director Chris Knight said. “Every day, employees at the center are assisting with responsible disposal of household products, furniture and more. We’re looking forward to continuing the great work we do by providing this service to the community.”

The Convenience Collection Center is a staffed recycling facility that is owned by the City and employs individuals with disabilities. Since its opening in 2008, the center has collected over 15,000 tons of basic recyclables.
