The Stillwater Community Singers invite the community to enjoy this unforgettable evening of music during their Spring Concert at the Stillwater Community Center on April 23, at 7:30 p.m.  The Singers have been performing in concerts for over 25 years and are excited to share their joy with people in Stillwater and the surrounding area. Concerts are free to the public with a reception following in the Lowry Activity Center.

The music for the concert was specially selected for the Mixed Chorus by Director Judy White.  She chose the theme of the concert because the music is truly unforgettable and has stood the test of time by its popularity through the years and the beauty of the words and melodies, so relevant to the culture.

The 46-member chorus has been in rehearsals since January, meeting on Thursdays of each week at the Stillwater Community Center. The Singers perform in three concerts each year:  Spring, Fall, and Christmas.  The Singers have always appreciated the support of the City of Stillwater, which has provided rehearsal and concert space and the Stillwater Community Center staff who have provided sound, lighting, and set-up/take-down at the concerts.  The Stillwater News-Press and Store-It-Rite have co-sponsored the concerts, and the generous donations from the public have provided funding for music, supplies, and expenses for various services.

*Editor’s Note:  Shortly before uploading the April issue to the printer, we received notice that due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic, the Stillwater Community Singers have canceled their spring concert and rehearsals. We have chosen to run the original story about their concert in an effort to highlight their hours of work in rehearsals as well as to raise awareness about this organization and how they enhance quality of life for its members and the citizens of Stillwater.
