CASA’s volunteer of the month for July is Kristina Egnor. Originally from Vinita, Oklahoma, she came to Stillwater to attend OSU, and like many of our residents stayed after graduation. Kristina has been a CASA for five years, serving five children on four separate cases.

Many paths bring people to CASA, but one thing remains constant: a desire to help. “I was adopted, and I’d really like to foster,” Kristina said. “I’m not in a place to foster right now, so CASA was a great way to still help.”

She first learned about CASA through former Director, Carmen Miller. “She was telling me what she did, and it just fit perfectly,” Kristina explained. “I signed up, and have been taking a case about every year.”

Kristina offered encouragement for anyone considering joining CASA. “The CASA office gives you support,” she said. “Even if your life is busy with work and kids, they can help you manage the responsibility and make it doable. They can find the right case for you, and you can really make a difference.”

There are many ways to get involved and support CASA’s mission. CASA is always seeking volunteers, but they also need Board members and committee members. They need friends and followers to amplify messages on social media. And, of course, as a 501(c)3 non-profit, they need donations.
