Payne County & Surrounding Areas Animal Lovers Receive a Fabulous Gift

Payne County Animal Response Team (Payne CART) is pleased to announce it will hold an official “unveiling” of their new American Kennel Club Reunite (AKC Reunite) Pet Disaster Relief trailer! The “unveiling” will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 6:30 PM at the “Winter Wonderland” during “Super Hero Day!” located at 224 W. 9th, Stillwater, OK
74074.

The new trailer will be available to dispatch to disaster scenes where assistance is needed sheltering pets.

AKC Pet Disaster Relief trailers help create a safe, temporary home‐base for at least 65 pets immediately following a disaster declaration. The trailers house and deliver essential supplies such as fans, lighting and generators; cleaning supplies; maintenance items; and animal care items. Animal care items include crates and carriers, AKC Reunite microchips and an AKC Reunite universal microchip scanner as well as bowls, collars and leashes. These units can be used as co‐location shelters, where people can evacuate with their pets, as well as emergency animal shelters for
displaced animals.

AKC Pet Disaster Relief, a national program spearheaded by AKC Reunite, is dedicated to keeping pets and their owners safe in the aftermath of tornadoes, floods, wildfires and other natural or civil disasters.

The trailer was funded in part by donations from Canadian Valley Kennel Club, Red Dirt Agility Club, Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences Student Chapter of the AVMA, Bartlesville Kennel Club, Onofrio Dog Shows, Mid‐Continent Kennel Club, Doberman Pinscher Club of the Indian Nation, Stillwater Human Society, Dog Judges Association of America, Siberian Husky Club of America and the Seminole Kennel Club. These donations were matched with funds from AKC REUNITE.

Payne County Animal Response Team (PCART) is a non‐profit [501(c)(3)] organization staffed by an all‐volunteer specialized team of animal professionals and Oklahoma Medical Reserve Corp credentialed volunteers.
